Before You Start

Here are the Hints and Tips on things you should be BEFORE you go outside to do any work on your property.

If you have a smart phone, take pictures of the model and serial number and engine information on you units. That way if you need to order any parts for it, you will have the information needed.

Drink plenty of water before you go outside and do any type of yard work. You may not realize how much you sweat and over heat while out there.

Before you use any type of equipment, regardless of when was the last time you used it, look it over.

Mowers

  1. Are the tires inflated properly?
  2. Check the oil.
  3. Are there any wet spots under the unit to let you know if there are any leaks of gas, oil or water.

String Trimmers/Blowers

  1. Do you have the right type of fresh gas mixture in your 2-cycle unit?
  2. Do you have the right amount of oil in your 4-cycle unit?

Chain Saws

  1. Do you have the right type of fresh gas mixture in your unit?
  2. Do you have enough bar oil in your unit?
Before you go outside, make sure you are dressed properly.
  1. Yes, it may be hot outside, but it is better to wear jeans instead of shorts.  When you are trimming, even with a shield, you could get some rocks or other debris could be kicked back and hit you.
  2. Wear closed toe shoes.
  3. Where either sunglasses or some type of eye protection.
  4. Wear some ear protection. All this equipment is loud and is damaging to your hearing.
